Sandy Bayside flats drain fast and lose nutrients, while salt wind dries beds out, so mulch does double duty. We lay moisture-holding mulch that feeds the sand and shields roots from the bay breeze. Beds hold up better through summer with less watering.

Salt, sand and a high water table all test paving near the bay. We lay stone and slip-resistant pavers on bases built for sandy, sometimes damp ground, around pools, courtyards and bayfront entertaining areas. Surfaces stay stable and shrug off the salt.

Sandy soil and mild bayside conditions let weeds run before a garden establishes. We clear beds and paving, treat regrowth and keep things tidy near the water. Gardens stay clean without constant effort.

Pebbles suit sandy, free-draining Bayside ground and the relaxed bay look. We use them in beds, around pools and as dry drainage lines where the water table sits high. The finish is clean, coastal and almost maintenance free.

A deck lifts a usable outdoor room above damp, sandy ground on a bayside block. We build hardwood and composite decks with salt-rated fixings, set to catch the bay aspect. It works over ground that can sit wet near the water table.

Retaining Walls Bayside

Sandy flats and clay ridges both need walls built for their soil and drainage. We build block, sleeper and stone retaining walls that suit loose sand or heavier ridge clay. Structural walls are engineered and checked with Bayside Council.
