A Sydney-grown business
Sydney’s climate is brutal on a real lawn long hot summers, water restrictions, shady courtyards that never quite recover. Artificial grass is how a lot of Sydney homes finally get the lawn they’ve always wanted.
We’ve been gardening and landscaping across Sydney for more than two decades. That gardener’s-eye matters: synthetic turf doesn’t just live in isolation — it sits next to your paving, your timber decking, your garden beds. When the installation is done by a landscaper who actually understands the rest of your yard, the finish is sharper, the edges are tidier, and the result lasts.
Every artificial grass installation we do in Sydney is fixed-price and guaranteed. If you’d prefer a natural option, ask us about natural turf laying instead — we do both, and we’ll tell you honestly which one suits your space.
Why Sydney homes switch
The case for synthetic turf
Artificial grass isn’t for every home — but for Sydney households dealing with patchy lawns, heavy clay soil, deep shade, water bills, allergies, dogs, or simply lost weekends, the maths usually adds up fast.
No mowing, no watering, no weekends lost
A synthetic lawn doesn’t need mowing, fertilising, edging, or weekly watering. No fuel, no equipment, no green bin overflowing every Sunday afternoon.
Lush in January, lush in July
Sydney’s heatwaves and winter dieback don’t touch artificial grass. It looks the same on the hottest February day as it does on the wettest June morning.
Cuts your water bill, full stop
You stop pouring litres into the lawn every week. That’s better for the household budget and a real advantage when Sydney slips back into water restrictions.
Soft, draining, safe to play on
The synthetic turf we install is non-toxic, lead-free and UV-stable, with permeable backing so dog urine and rainwater drain through. No mud, no patchy bare spots, no allergens.
Shade, slopes, concrete — all fine
Real grass struggles where artificial grass thrives: deep shade beside the house, narrow side passages, balconies, and existing concrete or paving you’d rather not rip up.
Multi-tone fibres, realistic feel
Modern synthetic grass uses three to four shades of green with a natural brown thatch base. From two metres away, most visitors don’t realise it isn’t real.
Our installation process
How we lay synthetic turf properly
A good artificial lawn is 80% base prep. Skip a step and the finish will tell on you within a year — uneven surface, drainage issues, edges lifting, weeds breaking through. Here’s our process, in plain order.
Step 1
Site assessment & fixed quote
We come out, measure the area properly, ask what you want from the space, and look at the surface you’re laying over. You get a fixed price in writing before anyone digs in.
Step 2
Excavation & existing growth removal
For soil installations, we strip the existing grass and roots and excavate to the right depth. For artificial turf preparation on concrete or paving, this step is replaced with a clean and crack-check.
Step 3
Base preparation & compaction
We bring in a crushed-rock base, level it carefully to drain in the right direction, and compact it firmly. This is the foundation everything else relies on — we don’t cut corners here.
Step 04
Weed membrane & edging
A geotextile weed barrier goes over the base. Permanent edging timber, metal or paver frames the area so the turf stays put and weeds can’t sneak in from the sides.
Step 05
Synthetic grass installation
We roll out the artificial grass, allow it to relax, trim it precisely to the edges, join any seams invisibly, and secure it with non-rust nails or permeable adhesive depending on the surface.
Step 06
Infill, brush-up & walk-through
Kiln-dried silica sand is brushed into the pile to weight it and keep blades standing upright. We brush the whole lawn, clean up the site, and walk you through care so you know exactly what to do.
Pile heights & turf types
The right product for the job.
Pile height – the length of the synthetic grass blade matters more than most people realise. It changes how the lawn looks, how it feels underfoot, and how well it performs in your specific space. We’ll recommend the right one when we quote.
Short pile
- True roll for golf
- High traffic areas
- Commercial entries
- Very low maintenance
Low pile
- Easy to hose & brush clean
- Best for dog runs
- Childcare-friendly feel
- Quick to dr
Most popular
Water from rainwater tanks is exempt from the standard restrictions. If you have a tank with a pump, we can plumb the system to use it as the primary source.
Premium pile
- Most lush appearance
- U-shaped blades
- Premium thatch base
- Front-yard kerb appeal

Choosing what suits your garden
Pop-up sprinklers vs drip line – which do you actually need?
In most Sydney gardens, the right answer is both, zoned separately. Here’s how each does its job.
When concrete is a great surface
If your slab is structurally sound, drains reasonably well (no large standing puddles after rain), and only has minor cracks, laying artificial grass over it is faster, cleaner and cheaper than digging it up. You’ll be on your new lawn within a day or two.
What we check before quoting
We test for ponding by water-checking the surface, look for major cracks or lifted slabs, check that water can run somewhere when it hits the edges, and assess any cleaning required from oil stains, moss or algae. Anything that needs repair, we’ll flag in the quote – no surprises mid-job.
How we install on concrete
We pressure-clean the slab, repair any meaningful cracks with self-levelling compound, drill drainage holes at any low points if needed, lay a permeable shockpad underlay for cushioning and drainage, then secure the synthetic grass with weather-resistant adhesive along edges and seams. Sand infill goes in last to weight and protect the fibres.
Why a shockpad matters on concrete
Skip the underlay and you can feel every imperfection through the turf. A proper shockpad changes the whole experience.
- Softens the feel underfoot — closer to real grass
- Hides minor cracks or surface unevenness
- Drains water through to the slab below
- Adds genuine fall protection for kids’ play areas
- Extends the lifespan of the synthetic grass above
Honest advice
Synthetic or real? We do both
Most Sydney turf installers only sell synthetic. We do both natural turf laying and artificial grass installation — which means when we recommend one over the other for your specific space, you can trust we’re not just selling what we’ve got in the truck.
Synthetic is the right answer
- You’re tired of mowing, watering and weekend lawn care
- The area is deeply shaded or has poor soil quality
- You’re laying over concrete, paving or a rooftop
- You have dogs and the lawn keeps becoming a mud patch
- Water bills or restrictions are a real concern
- The space is high-traffic and a real lawn just can’t keep up
Natural turf still wins
- You love the feel and smell of real grass and you’ll maintain it
- The yard gets good sun and reasonable drainage
- You’re not in a water-restricted period and don’t mind the bill
- You’d prefer a lower upfront cost and don’t mind ongoing care
- You want a surface that helps cool the yard in summer
- You’re after a 100% organic finish for a kitchen garden setting
Our fixed-price promise
The quote is the price
We’ve heard the same story too many times — a quote on paper, then surprise extras during install. We don’t work that way. Our artificial grass installation quotes are fixed and itemised. What we measure on the site visit is what you pay on the day. Work guaranteed, every job.
Frequently asked
Common questions about synthetic turf installation
Honest answers to the questions Sydney homeowners ask us most often before booking. Don’t see what you need? Give us a call on 0433 176 547 — we’re happy to talk it through.
Cost depends on a few honest variables: the size of the area, the surface you’re laying over (a stripped soil area, an existing lawn, concrete or paving), the amount of edge work and detail cutting, and the synthetic turf product you choose. Premium pile and dense fibres cost more than budget rolls.
We give you a fixed quote upfront after a free on-site measure — so the price you see is the price you pay. No mid-job extras for “things we didn’t expect”.
Yes — it’s one of our most common Sydney jobs. Provided the slab is structurally sound and drains reasonably, laying artificial grass on concrete is faster and cheaper than excavating. The process is different from a soil install: clean, repair any cracks, lay a permeable shockpad underlay, then secure the turf with weather-resistant adhesive.
If your concrete has serious drainage issues or significant lifting, we’ll tell you straight — sometimes a small repair is needed before we can guarantee the finish.
Most residential artificial grass installations in Sydney are completed in one to two working days. A standard 40–50m² backyard is usually a one-day job. Larger areas, sites needing extensive excavation, or jobs with complex edge work and obstacles can take longer — we’ll give you a clear timeline at quote.
Yes. The synthetic grass we install is non-toxic, lead-free and UV-stable. The permeable backing lets urine and rainwater drain through (so no mud, no pooling), and unlike real grass it doesn’t release pollen — which makes it a real win for hay-fever sufferers. For dog runs specifically, regular rinsing keeps things hygienic and odour-free.
A correctly installed artificial lawn in Sydney typically lasts 15–20 years. Lifespan depends on the product chosen, daily foot traffic, sun exposure, and how well the base was prepared. Cheaper products with thinner backing will fade and flatten faster — which is why we recommend mid-range or premium synthetic grass for most family backyards.
Not when the base is prepared properly. We remove all existing growth, lay a geotextile weed-suppression membrane over compacted base material, and finish with the synthetic turf weeds in our installations are extremely rare. The occasional windblown seed might land on the surface, but it has nowhere to root.
If you’re seeing weeds in a lawn we didn’t install, it’s almost always a sign that the base prep was rushed. Our weeding services can sort the symptom, but the cure is usually a proper relay.
Synthetic turf does warm up under direct summer sun like any outdoor surface, including paving and concrete. A light hose-down cools it within a minute. Shade from trees, fences, pergolas or the house keeps it comfortable for most of the day, and modern UV-stable fibres reflect more heat than older generation products. If your space is in full afternoon sun without shade, we’ll talk to you about lighter-coloured options that run cooler.
Yes. Every artificial grass installation we complete is backed by our workmanship guarantee. We operate under NSW Home Renovation Licence 467914C as a licensed gardener and landscaper not a fly-by-night supplier. If something isn’t right, we come back and fix it.
For standard residential lawn replacement, no you don’t need a permit to install artificial grass on your own property. If you’re a strata property, a tenant, a heritage-listed home, or planning major changes to a front yard visible from the street, it’s worth checking with your strata committee or local council. We’re happy to discuss this during the quote so there are no surprises.
Very little. A regular brush against the pile direction keeps the blades standing up. A leaf blower or stiff broom clears debris. A light hose-down every now and then keeps it clean and cool. For dog owners, a quick rinse where they tend to go keeps things fresh. That’s about it — no mowing, no watering, no fertilising, no weekend battle.
